Longview Farms of Afton is an elevated rural residential development designed to balance individual expression with a shared commitment to land stewardship and enduring design. Set across approximately 94 acres in Afton, Minnesota, the community consists of four estates sized homesites, each exceeding 20 acres in size. The intent is not to create uniformity, but coherence, and distinct homes that clearly belong to the same landscape and community. The acreage, currently a cultivated field, features gentle rolling topography framed by mature tree lines and wooded perimeters. Scattered low spots will be preserved and integrated as natural stormwater management systems, reinforcing ecological function while maintaining the open agricultural character of the land. A central shared private drive extends from a quiet dead-end street and organizes access around a common infiltration area, minimizing infrastructure impact and preserving expansive views. These Design Guidelines establish principles for site planning, architecture, and landscape to ensure development enhances the inherent qualities of the land. Each home is expected to be thoughtfully sited, appropriately scaled, and carefully detailed resulting in a collection of residences that mature gracefully over time.
